Kurdish Studies Institute (KSI) of the University of Kurdistan a in Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan province in Iran, was first established in 2000 under the name of Kurdish Studies Centre. It is the only official institute for conducting researches on different areas of Kurdish studies in Iran. It includes three research departments which are Kurdish Literature and Linguistics, History and Culture of Kurdistan and the Strategic Studies of the Development of Kurdistan. KSI has published more than 35 books in Kurdish and about Kurdish studies, organized two international and three nationwide conferences, several workshops, and publishes The Journal of Kurdish Literature, which is the only peer reviewed journal in the field approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in Iran. |
